Some birds were flying and met a bird on their way. The bird greeted them, “hello hundred!” They said “we are not hundred, we need half of us plus you to make us hundred.”
How many birds were Flying?

x = some birds flying
x + (x/2) + 1 = 100
(2x + x)/2 = 99
3x = 198
x = 66

1st answer:

Total birds flying = x = 66

That is, if the bird who greeted them hello is just resting and not flying.

2nd answer:

Total birds flying = some birds + another flying bird who greeted them “hello"

Total birds flying = 66 + 1 = 67
